AHHH no! That's what I was afraid of... I have tried installing hotkey programs but I am not familiar with script writing so it seems useless. If anyone figures out how to change these function key settings let me know ASAP! It's getting under my skin...

I love the fn + keys because they work with all OS's and don't rely on Dell's stupid control point software to do so.

No news yet it's still In Production. Estimated delivery is 5/2/11 which i'm sure Dell will take their sweet time after I took advantage of their website error LOL. :D

Dell has punished you by taking advantage of the website error!

It will also depend on which 500 GB drive you get. My 160GB Toshiba was rather quiet as was the 160 GB Hitachi in my E6410. Seagate drives typically have the most complaints about noise/excessive vibrations.

LOL i'll probably get it on 5/2/11 with the noisiest harddrive they can find. At least the 4GB of ram cost me -$10 with free shipping. :D

Does Dell use Samsung 500GB drives as someone else mentioned?

You got a rockin' deal ... just replace the drive with a SSD if it is noisy :)

Nah i'll just swap it out with a 5400 rpm drive in one of my many laptops. Hopefully this 500GB drive is a Samsung which supposedly is quieter and runs cooler than the 320GB 7200 rpm drives used in the V13's.

edit: Is there a way to find out what kind of drive i'm getting before it ships? I looked at my order and it doesn't mention the part other than 500GB HDD. With orders that have been shipped it gives the mfg name in the drive description.
