Was that a new V13 before they removed it from the site?

Me too! I was shocked-- one of the things I remember about Dell was how quickly they built and shipped these things. I found this thread because I was googling to see if there was some explanation, like sandybridge chip problems or something. Oh well. We'll have to see how it pans out.

Just a heads up, Dell usually fulfills their orders even if a product has been discontinued. They just make you wait and hope you will cancell the order and get something else. As I mentioned to the poster you quoted, call Dell and ask what component is holding up the order?

In my case it was the 65W AC adapter which the L13 and maybe the V130 uses although not sure about the V130. In either case if you talk to a rep you could find yourself in a better machine for the delay. It's worth a call IMO. ;)

V130 will work with the 65 watt adapter.

I kept hounding them via email, and I just received a shipping notice today, with delivery tomorrow. They never did say what was holding up the order, just that it was in "manufacturing", and that they put in a "request to expedite".

Honestly it looking like a Macbook + being 1000...get an Apple? lol

The pricing would drive away most people, and Dell learned with the Adamo and Adamo XPS that people did not associate luxury and high quality with Dell.

    ^^^ This

Dell is like the Buick of the computer world. Their designs are decent, modern but you never get that WOW ZOMG with Dell. I thought the Adamo was the first time I did a double take and asked. Is that a DELL?!

The V13, L13 and V130 IMO still look really good like that can't be a Dell design. I would have to see the 15z up close. If it's an aluminum body it might make me reconsider my opinion.

Still looks better than all those leaked photos but nothing to exciting, unless if I could snag one with another Dell pricing error, free shipping for $339. :D

15" is too big for me...

On a side note, I received my V13 last night -- I'm very impressed. No vibration on the 320GB hdd either. The only thing I think will be an issue is battery life. Took it off the charger at 100% and it was reporting under 3 hours remaining... Other than that, I am very satisfied at this point. Especially for $349.
