If they made that in 13" flavor and priced it around 700 then maybe I'd consider getting it secondhand lol.

if you got a 5530 wwan card and win 7 x64 I got an orca hacked 5530 msi that bypasses the verification and will let you install the card without any messing around with other drivers.

Looking at the V130, does the i3-380 do any better on the battery life compared to the i5-470?

The i3 would get marginally better battery life due to i5's having Turbo Boost and will eat more than their rated 18 watt TDP, but I would get the i5-470UM as it has Turbo Boost and will perform significantly better in single threaded applications. Though the i3 will still be significantly more powerful than the older SU7300 Core 2 Duo.

Yes (SSD) when it comes to load times. I have two V13's one of them is Celeron based and the other is the SU7300. Both CPU's do an adequate job. Keep in mind these laptops were designed more for web browsing, email, Skype and light office work. Forget this being a gaming machine. :)

So really the CPU is more than enough to do these tasks. The ONLY time where I see the Celeron based V13 get a little bogged down is on boot up and loading prefetch from the hard drive. After the initial sequence it settles down and the laptop is very responsive.

Cool cheers, yet another Q, i have looked but cant find the answer, what size is the HDD (physical)? If i can fit a normal SSD instead of paying £160 to dell to do it. As i understand, the V130 comes with the original install disks? Then re install it on the new SSD.

Just had a look, seems a 128Gb SSD is still around £150+ here anyway, might as well stick with the Dell one!

The V13/V130/L13 accepts 2.5" 9mm SATA drives. You can fit a normal SSD in it. The V130 maybe not come with the discs, my refurbished L13 does. You can typically purchase recovery media for ~2 dollars + driver discs is additional money.

The Dell one is usually Samsung or Toshiba OEM SSD. If you buy it on your own you can decide which brand you want, just won't have the Dell warranty.

Cool, configured the V130 with i3-380, 2GB Ram, 128Gb SSD, W7Pro and its just over £700! although thats pretty good here for an i3 with SSD.
They do have some refurbished V13's from Dell Outlet for around £400-£500 but they dont have the SSD, Older Core2Duo and no HDMI.

Do you know the difference between-
Primary 6-cell battery [Included in Price]
    Primary 6-cell 30W/HR LI-ION add £0.00

If you plan on keeping the laptop awhile i'd add a 3 year warranty. The motherboards in these laptops are known to be problematic. My Celeron V13 developed a dead LAN port. I had to reheat the solder on the motherboard where the LAN adapter sits to get it working again.

Motherboards are quite expensive for these laptops.
