    On the Vostro 1500 does the 9 cell battery stick out ?

    of course it is same as the inspiron 1520 so it stiks out but not much.

    What do you mean the same ?

    Does the 1520 have a full magnesium frame and a HD shock thingy ??

    i remember reading somewhere on here that the 1520 does have the "magnesium chassis"... but it doesn't have the vostro's mylar sealed keyboard or shock-mounted HD

    Ordered my Vostro 1400 two days ago. Will be calling a CSR tomorrow to get the $50 price adjustment. Looks like mine will ship on or before 7/31/07.

    you're right! it's on Dell website.. only Vostro has Magnesium alloy chassis + HDD Shock absorber + mylar sealed keyboard :cool:
    if they only throw us a bone like the $350 coupon on the new Inspirons :rolleyes:

    Probably a stupid question but the HDD will still be user replaceable right?

    And btw, couldn't you just order a mylar sealed keyboard and install it in Isnpiron? :confused:

    you can replace the HD, or an easier but more bulky way is to get a sata2 expresscard and buy an eSata external HD which should be just as fast as an internal.
