My 7760 I tried twice just to 50% battery and I think at most I will squeeze out is 2.5 to 3 hours. Battery extender on (which is screen at 20%), Dell Power Manager set ot Optimized. and windows battery settings best battery life.

I think your 12 hours is better than my Surface Pro 7.

Interesting, thank you. There seems to be no pattern for the people getting good vs poor battery life

Does the UHD 120hz display operate at 60hz when set to hybrid graphics mode? If it does not you may try setting it to 60hz to see if it improves battery life any.

What programs / updates did you install once you got your laptop? I'm wondering if there's some sort of trigger, maybe some monitoring software like MSI afterburner that might set a profile.

I haven't installed much yet. Right now, the only programs I have are Firefox, PyCharm, and an antivirus. I'm going to try disabling the antivirus later to see if it's keeping the GPU active for some reason.

Did you ever install any RAM yourself or are you running the stock memory?

    7760 Specs in sig.
While doing some light work and hooked up to two external monitors connected to mDP and HDMI and lid closed, I decided to pull the plug and monitor the battery drop. I noted it every 5%. It dropped 5% on average every 9.5 minutes to 50%. It took 1 hour 32 minutes to get to 50% and noted 1 hour 33 minutes remaining.

I turned on battery extender which puts the Thermal Management in Quiet mode.

So looks like this will give 3 hours. This is not realistic use for me of using external monitors without being plugged in but I figured I would give it a try.

After plugging in, the windows power meter noted 1 hour and 6 minutes to full charge.

I will do the same with just the laptop screen later.
