Wow he caught an attitude? I would've took the motherboard and smashed it over his head. Do your job now a**hole! If he was in my crib, no way would that have gone down. Me and my bro would've tossed him in the basement and let the millipedes get him lol!!!

whoa, you is down dawg. you is dowwwwn.

tsk tsk. you and your gangsta fantasies.

i once had a dell tech in malaysia who installed the palmrest first on my i8600 instead of installing the gfx card first. he then proceeded to use a plier to bend the screw hole so it would fit :|

    he got fired for that.

I have to agree. I would have kicked him out of my house so fast he would have had to duck to not let his toolbox hit him in the back of the head.

I find that story depressing. I guess that's what you get when the guy who comes to a service call is a correspondence school drop out.

Someone mentioned BIOS A11 is available, so I checked what other software updates were available. Buried in the SATA drives category is a firmware update for the Seagate drives. I have a Seagate drive that was corrupting data (which could be fixed using chkdsk when booting using a different drive). I hope this fixes the corruption problem, but others might want to take note of this firmware update if you have a Seagate drive in your M4400, too.

well after he did that to the mobo i couldnt be bothered, because i wanted a new one. so it wasnt much point.

DTS wanted to replace the notebook in the first place, but because it was not purchased in the UK, they said they couldnt. this just gave me the ammo i needed to push for a replacement

What did A11 change for you Gordon?

Does by any chance, the new intel pro wireless software now NOT add 10 additional processes and 20 seconds to boot up time?

@afhstingray....you sure have had some rotten luck...here's hoping your replacement will be trouble free and you won't have to go near one of those tech's......you should at least write a letter of complaint about his manners.

I have requested a replacement battery for mine,as it seems to discharge itself when the notebook is shut down......next morning 6% remaining.
When they decide to reply to my email,I will ask for a replacement six cell for the non tumorous looking aesthetic's and the fact a 6 cell is plenty for my requirements.;)

yea..i hope so too. i just want what i paid for to work as described.

this model was really not designed to be disassembled...with the palmrest and screen bezel being snap ons...

saves weight, makes it thinner, but its a real pain in the if anything goes wrong
