WOW, that's a HUGE relief to hear. I also noticed on Dell's support site that there was a full compliment of Vista 64 drivers present for the M4400. The only thing missing was the NVIDIA FX1700 driver, but the NVIDIA site had them, so it's no problem.
Someone else in another thread was having issues with the sound driver. I'm hoping that won't be an issue.

Most sig's I see have Vista Bus 64 or Vista Ult 64 with this machine. For the FX770 Dell supplies the drivers. I mean I'm many of us figure it would almost be izing the machine to put 32bit on it. Not an issue. Back to Sins of a Solar Empire...:D :D

Are the DELL SMB reps working on the weekends? I'd love to get a price match against a Lenovo W500 right now. Some nice deals going on with Lenovo right now.

Here are the 2 systems at the best prices I could find them at.

As far as I can see, differences & advantages one laptop has over the other are...

W500 Advantage: Higher res screen, DDR3 (very slight advantage), comes with vista 64 bit.
M4400 Advantages: Backlit keyboard, 3 Year Basic Limited Warranty

Yes, FX 1700M. The actual description reads "512MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700M Precision M4400".

You can go here for the older Bios for m4400: http://ftp1.us.dell.com/bios/
Regards to I-Ram for posting that link a little while back.

I am on Vista business 64 and it's running without a hitch. Only problem I had was that they refused to include a bluetooth minicard with the system. Apparently they say there are no 64 bit drivers for their Bluetooth adapter.
Subsequently, I read on here that some people had no problem with bluetooth and 64 bit so I don't know what the real deal is. Bottom line, I should have ordered the system in a 32 bit config with the bluetooth card and install the 64 bit OS later.

I will probably end up ordering the card at a later time and installing it miyself. In the meantime I just use a bluetooth dongle whenever I need it (which isn't very often).
