Thanks for the update on the mouse button. I hate to say it but between the dead pixel and the mouse and the bulge on the back of my lid where the lid lock is they decided to just replace my laptop all together. Got to love Dell SB Support. I still feel the M4400 is a solid laptop so far the little bit of work I have done on it is very much on par with what I would expect performance wise out of it.

i spilt beer on my i8600. that killed it. although i havent really tried reviving it. good excuse to get my m4400 lol. the i8600 was starting to be a bit out of breath running modern applications.

it was dying anyway. thank goodness for the 3 year warranty, virtually every component had been replaced in its third year. consumer grade just cant take the traveling and abuse i throw at it, because i treat my laptops like a desktop (as in on all the time)

i would have got the D600 but i couldnt afford it at the time, i had to pick the stupid 8200 with horrible build quality (gave it to my sis after a month, she used it as a desktop)

i loved my D610 though! was as solid as a rock!! also had a xps 1210 briefly (again, before giving it to my sis...i loved it but she needed a new laptop the 8200 was dying)

i've only got a 250gb 7200rpm drive, planning on upgrading that when 500gb 7200rpm drives get cheap

Na i aint bought one yet. but i will, i need to find a online voucher. i no everyone says ring up and say do me a deal , but when i was intrested. the sales advisor was just standing firm man. proper colonel man.
what i spec what i wanted at the time was everything you had but with 320gb and that cam up to £1400 excluding VAT so ill have to wait to sell the t61p or 8530w 1st although i dont think its really a better swap since it has blu ray. but if its a lot silent then it will satisfy me .

i just got word that i'll have to be flying back to singapore in mid-late march, i'll be in malaysia as well. if you like i can pick up an m4400 for you there. the prices are much cheaper.

BUT, im gonna be doing a lot of shopping for myself as well lol, so you may want to find out about airfreight, taxes etc ....i cant carry it back with me under my own luggage allowance dunno if it might still be worthwhile.

basically you order it and pay for it, i'll just forward it to you. PM me if you're interested.

global warranty, you can transfer the warranty to UK as well, if you intend to use it for an extended period of time here.

i got my spec for USD$1800 which i reckon is a good deal. i also got 2 free 6 button laser mice

    go to

    www.dell.com.my

configure a spec you want, and i'll fwd it to my sales rep and see what he can do.

u wont be paying double tax anyway, all IT equipment is tax free in malaysia
