Wasn't there like 2 owner's who sent there LG screened M4400 back because they were unhappy with grainyness ? Enduct and another chap who bought an asus.....I'm sure Dell would have sold a ton of them with LG's in them....the pictures one owner posted who had access to more than one M4400 with LG AND samsung screens, couldn't see what the big deal was between them.......will try and find the thread.

I didn't get a dvd writer as all notebook writers are slow pig's and fussy with media imho, prefer using a Sony 20X external.....haven't had any problem's with playback on my internal dvd rom though.

What a mess.. they charge a bomb and skimp on the most obvious productivity feature, the screen. I really wanted that screen also because that is the resolution I would be most comfortable with. How about the guys with the low and high (non LED) res screens? Are you guys happy with those screens?
Notebook writers are bad? Umm no. Only the bad ones are bad. I have a writer in my Inspiron 1505 and I haven't had any problems with writing, and reading hundreds of DVDs (literally hundreds).

Is anyone docking the M4400 in the e-Port or e-Port Plus with 30" Monitors? Can you get the 2560x1600 with Dual-Link DVI?

My M4400 has an LG screen and it is fine. No graininess and nice rich colors.

I had a M4400 a few days ago, I tested some games like COD WAW, NFS UC and very dissapointed. It has very good and fluent graphics in the first moments but after it speeds down and down and can't play because of the very low fps rates.
I read about heating problems, and installed furmark for testing the GPU, it ran about 15 minutes and GPU temp reached up to 96 degrees, is this normal?
I upgraded BIOS A09 to A11 and nothing has changed. I want to buy a notebook cooler, do you advice? I am writing from Turkiye, sorry for my English.

Well well well, why am I not surprised?

COD WAW runs at about 20FPS on when I crank up the settings and overheats my card too.

I always use a notebook cooler. I've never been able to get my GPU over 78C and that's will full fleets maxxed at battle, zoomed in for a long long time. I really don't understand why some machines are heating up like that when others are not. I've seen something similar with the Sager NP8660's where some complain of hot HD's, and others stay below 55C. Have you called tech support and asked them why this was happening when other machines are not? That's all I can say. I'm using Vista Bus 64 and stock vid drivers btw.
