Has anyone tried playing Flight Simulator X with their M4400? It's supposed to be pretty demanding of the hardware, so I'm curious whether the M4400 is up to it (before I buy the game).

    Thanks!

I'm sure you have tried to tighten the screw, maybe inspect the threads, sounds like you will be calling Dell dude.

Or, hey it will prolly run cooler with the bottom off and you can quickly get to the RAM as well.

i probably will be calling them up, according to my brother that the laptop came with the bottom open, thank good for all my extra support that came with the laptop.

one thing i can say about the m4400 is that has a very nice keyboard to type on and it does look like a machine that can do business

I had the screw problem too...after my first tech visit. Just wouldn't get a grip on the chassis anymore, did get a replacement but that was because the mobo also had to be replaced. Didn't feel like going through two of those repairs so i asked for a new one.

My M4400 is actually running pretty well after one week of use - glad I got this one instead of the E6500 (BSOD edition heheh).

BUT.. I got a really odd problem today.. when i installed a font on the M4400 it looks different than on my stationary PC?!

On my stationary PC - this is how the font is surposed to look like!

On my M4400.. look how the font look a lot more "slim" and "compressed"..

Any idea what's going on? running same OS on both machines (Vista Business x64).. only the resolution is different (M4400 = 1920 * 1200 PC = 1280 * 1024).. Very strange - this is the only font that is messed up.. (well.. the only one i've noticed so far.. - have quite a few heheh).

Weird indeed...if resolution had anything to do with it the font should have actually looked stretched out on the new system as it's a widescreen. Haven't seen this problem yet, weird.

If you adjust the offset in I8kfangui,it says the correct temps.....mine needed another 7 degC added.

I did,but the heatsink is always considerably lower in temperature than what the chip temp is being displayed as,which, sort of stands to reason really, because if the heatsink was the same temp as the chip,it wouldn't be drawing any heat away.

I was using the IR temp gun to see how hot the video memory chips were getting [curiosity]but couldn't get reliable readings as they are pretty much covered up.

@reksveks.....sorry to hear about your bottom panel retaining screw....what a bummer on your new laptop, hopefully will be fixed pronto.
