i wasnt feeling too comfortable and too lazy to actually go through the retention method..

but either way the temperature does not exceed 90 degrees on furmark, so I think I should be pretty safe for the most part... during BF3, it reaches close to 90 in intense scenes on 1600p ultra setting.

You don't need the retention clip mod, a proper repate job is all you have to do to tame those temperatures.
If not, there must be something wrong with your heatsinks, though i doubt.

yeah i was able to get a satisfying temp for the gpu.

although, i redid my cpu but it still has the same issue of one core being 7-10 degrees hotter than the adjacent core... under 100%load of course.

I am suspecting that the temp sensor is bad.. The chip is OEM though.

any ideas on why? I tried two blobs in the middle and the spread method. Both yield the same result.

That difference is normal under load, as long as you keep them under 90° C.

I've tried this before on 757 and 767s using an m17x and an R2. Airline seats have a smart breaker that will cut off power if you draw too much. The standard power brick will trip that breaker the second you plug it in. Power will remain off until you unplug the offending device. The only way to get it to work at all would be to use a lower wattage adapter like an iGo, which is obviously not supported or recommended by Dell. I've gotten this to work with varying results but it ended up being a bigger pain than it was worth. Even in stealth mode, I would draw too much power when I would start a game, boot the laptop, etc which would trip the breaker forcing me to unplug and replug over and over.

On Virgin America (Airbus A320s and 319s) the outlets are limited to 35W and don't give continuous power. If you have a device that tries to draw more than 35W, it will not give any power at all. If your device draws <35W it will rotate the power among seats, so you are powered about 1/3rd of the time, depending on what people on your segment of the "grid" are doing.

I'm sure every aircraft is different. I was on a Navy C-40 involving a total of 18 hours of fly time (with 5 stops) for this paticular trip. Being military has it's advantages I guess, we just daisy chained power strips from the galley to the front of the passenger area. Everyone was able to enjoy power (including my R3\580m gaming in borderlands) with no troubles.

It came with my R2 and the buzzing sound is quite audible in a silent room. It happens with or without load. I am trying to figure out if this is a problem that I am experiencing or is normal...

Will this effect performance in the long run?

Buzzing sound gets more intense and "faster" with higher power draw...

Thank you for your response in advance.
