All the info that I've seen online regarding this indicate that the power brick is reaching the end of its life. Most people say that the buzzing is indicative of a dying capacitor. I'm not expert but that's the info that I've found after googling this issue.

Get a new adapter before that buzzing one goes bad and damages your computer.

A number of users have reported this on the forums (with R2's and R3's) and have called dell who gave them a new AC adapter free of charge. Just call up dell and do the same.

What is your experience on waiting for a new M6600 to be built and arrive?

I configured mine with the specs in the sig and it has been in production since day ago. Will there be any parts that will be delayed?

Please share how long you waited!

I was playing Diablo 3 Beta on my M4600 and I too experienced the high pitch noise. It is at such a high pitch it makes your ear want to bleed! My M4600 has the dual stereo mics. I ended up disabling all "Recording Devices" in the "Sound" control panel. This solved the issue for me.

BTW - Diablo 3 runs great on this laptop! Constant 40 - 50 FPS with all graphics MAX, Antialising, Distances cranked, 1080p res! Laptop runs quietly too!

    Specs:
    M4600
    I7-2720QM
    Nvidia Quadro 2000 2GB DDR3
    16GB DDR3 1600MHZ
    500GB 7200RPM
    1920x1080 Screen

tech support said they didnt hear about this issue from other users. it literally randomly came and went. Wait a couple days it will go away..

I know how bad the sound is. if your speaker is on 100%, you literally literally get a headache cause the sound is tooooo loud.

Oh well I got rid of the M4600 to get the M6600. Hopefully no issue there..

I finally got into the beta by entering the facebook contest. This game kicks a$$!!

FYI - I tested Diablo 3 on a XPS 15 L502X with GT 540M and a XPS 17 L702X with GT555M 3GB and the M4600 beats both! Better framerates and higher 3D Mark. Dells "Work" laptop plays games better than their XPS gaming series lol. I dont care for Alienware, they are just rebadged Clevo, Sager laptops.

The numbers seem to be very of. 3dmark11 scores are very very low, probably due to immature drivers, but the gaming performance/benchmark according to notebookcheck review, is equal to GTX 570M.

What do you think is the equivalent? Nvidia and AMD.

Thank you for your response in advance.
