I don't see anything standing out in your order that would cause this unreasonable delay. I sure hope you didn't use one of those 30% off coupons and they are playing games trying to get you to cancel!
Anyway, I ordered a standard Covet with dual 160GB drives and Vista 32.

Nope, we didn't use a coupon, we did get a nice discount but without a coupon. Anyway, we've called the manager and they gave us a new rep. he's looking into the order to find what is causing the delay. As soon as I know, I'll post it...

    ok guys,

Got my covet this morning :) :)

""Wow""... she is a beauty, love the orange, it's a very dark orange, not like "in your face" or anything!

This thing is built like a tank, so solid!
You can see why it's so **** expensive!

The screen is fantastic, no problems with reflections, and man, it's soooooooooo bright, i have to turn it down to 25% for my old eyes, lol :)

keyboard feels ok to me, love the backlight to :)

    more later.............
    toodles :)

Enjoy your laptop (pretty sure you'll do that). If you can find the time, maybe you can put some pictures of it on this forum? I'll propably have to cancel and reorder anyway so I'm thinking about ordering a covet but it would be nice to see some "real non studio" pictures of it to see what it looks like in "real life".

What kind of hard drive(s) did you order with yours? We're looking for someone with the SSD's to pop it open and give us the manufacturer and model number.

Well I believe there may have been a problem. I was just saying if it WAS a 9100, then there must be extreme differences in build within the model itself.
Cause my 9100 keyboard doesnt even push down anywhere even when I TRY to push it down. So I concluded that perhaps the m6400 may have variations in keybaord flex as well depending on which m6400 youre looking at - therefore, only take reviews on this matter as a possibility of flex, not a guarantee.

Because of my new Covet though, I finally KNOW what keyboard flex IS cause there is some. But I really dont notice it at ALL when Im typing, just when I push down on the KB on purpose.

    cheers!

I've been trying to pin my Dell rep down on the exact manufacturer and model number of the 64GB SSD drives that come as an option for the M6400, and he would not give me the manufacturer, but he gave me a Dell part number: 341-8093
I searched for this part number on Dell's website (use the link below), and it looks like a hunk of junk. I'm sure glad I ordered the normal hard drive and I'm taking care of the SSD purchase myself!

Finally got hold of my rep.

    For the M6400:
There is no 6-cell battery (online error).
There is no 12-cell battery (online error).
There never will be a battery slice.

He is looking into availability of modular battery bay.
Also looking into why Vista Ultimate 64-bit with no RAID does NOT allow 2HD online configuration.

By the way what is Dell's current largest and top of the line external monitor?
