Did you say that you downloaded XP64?, Do you have XP64 from Dell?
I found that installing retail and non Dell oem operating system on Dell notebook, get you in troubles, I got my M6400 with XP32 and Vista ultimate32, because when I ordered, there was not an option to choose between 32 and 64, so I chat with tech support an got XP64 and Vista ultimate 64 for free.
The installation of XP64 was seamless, no blue screen, no problem at all. with the dell oem XP64.
But, I tried to install Vista, at the beginning, to see if my main software worked fine under vista 64, but couldn't completed the installation, when the first stage of installation finished and reboot, I got a file not found message, so give up, and install XP64, and I am very happy with the performance.
By the way, I think that's why dell do not offer vista ultimate 64 with raid configurations, I have raid0 on.

Any experience with the Wireless USB module (410+UWB) ?, I have a wireless USB Keyboard and Mouse with a dongle, it's possible to buy a Wireless USB Hub and connect it to the M6400 wireless usb and then plug the dongle in the UWB hub ?, thanks

Well not really amazing... You're comparing a dual core cpu with a quad?! I'd expect far better results than that really.

    Kroton,

I have Dell's XP 32 bit reinstalled on RAID 0. I downloaded XP x64 from the MSDN Subscription site. I tried a couple of versions and they both bluescreen at the same place. The install starts and it then says it is starting windows and then blue screens.

I also have Vista Ultimate 32 and XP 32 from Dell. Maybe I should try to get a copy from XP x64 from them. One would think the install would be the same (unless Dell added their RAID0 drivers into their XP x64 install set.

    Thanks,
    Tim

    Kroton,

I just got off of the text chat with DELL. They XP x64 bit version has the RAID drivers "slipstreamed" into their install disk. They said I could create my own "slipstreamed" install disk or install the drivers by buying a USB floppy drive. Appearantly the XP install doesn't accept USB thumbdrives, but the Vista install is supposed to.

The following URL gives a tutorial on how to slipstream an XP install. A great idea for rebuilds.

    DubDubDub.maximumpc.com/article/How-To--Slipstream-your-XP-installation

    Thanks for the info.

    Sincerely,
    Tim
