Did your V1220 come with Windows 7, or did you upgrade from Vista/XP?

If upgrade, how did the upgrade process go? Did it take a long time?

Do you have a dual-boot setup? Do you have 2 partitions on your hard drive?

yes, it's dual boot.....I have C: drive for windows, and a /boot, /, /home and /swap for linux.....those linux partitions are extended because I would exceed the max of 4 primary partitions. But I use linux as my default OS....right now it's PeppermintOS which is an LXDE spin based off of Mint 9 LXDE (same developer)....it's fast!

Does anyone have a problem with a lag time with the touchpad? I find that when I enter information, it will take about 3 seconds before I have use of the touchpad again. I cannot type, there is no mouse tail, nothing.

I have changed the settings to light and speedy, default, slow, everything. Nothing helps. Other than this one problem I love this laptop (I have had it for one month).

    Configuration:
Intel Core 2 Duo T9550, 2.66GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 6M L2 Cache, 8 GB Memory, 64x Windows 7 Ultimate, 128GB SS Drive. It does have the fingerprint reader.

    Any ideas? tia

Nope, don't have this issue. Did you have it even with a fresh operating system? What about on a freshly booted system? My guess is that it's a driver issue of some kind. It could be the usb-driver or something that uses the usb-driver (like keyboard, touchpad, fingerprint reader).

My system is similar except for 32-bit windows, only 4gb RAM, slower cpu and regular hard-drive. I don't think any of those differences are relevant here however.

I don't know if I have that issue, because I just don't use the touchpad much....I actually disable it. But, that must be a fast 12 inch laptop :) Mine has been very good to me.

How do you disable it? It is very fast, except for the lag from using the touchpad when you "enter" anything. I absolutely love this laptop but this issue is making me crazy.

This is a brand-new machine, I did not make any changes / upgrade / install the os, it came this way. I used to order it with nothing and do the upgrades myself, but as I get older I quit doing that and just order the machine the way I want it. :D I checked and updated the drivers.

There are no problems when I use a mouse, just the touchpad.
