To add to the data sheet on this Notebook....Galactic Civilizations II runs smoothly on this notebook at native resolution. It won't let me turn on AA like my Precision, but I'll take it !!

I have a very extensive library of games - starting next week, I'll list them as well as fps and detail settings with the Vostro 1220.

I got a refurbished Vostro 1220 from the Outlet and it is outstanding. I got the 4-cell battery as I wanted something lighter to carry with me. Get about 3 hours, considering switching to a 6-cell to get longer hours. Hopefully not much heavier.

the volume control "buttons" only change the volume of the left channel, even when a pair of stereo speakers are plugged in.

    Anybody else noticed that?

Good news for you! Perhaps my 1220 had that updated BIOS when I recieved it. Haven't used it a lot but from what I have done I like it. I am not used to a touch pad so I had to adjust that for a much heavier touch. Hopefully will get a full workout when my bicycle officiating season starts in the spring.

Looks good, runs quick....for regular use seems as quick as my Precision in sig. I really wanted x64, but I'll leave it alone on this one.
