Yes but instore they do have vostros at least at my local costco last time i was there they had 1520s and 420s...that was 5 months ago.

nope it wasnt, the slot is there and functional BUT there arnt any antenia leads fot it. (it is a tru PCIE slot and therre at least with the nvidia GPU board.

no hybrid on my 3400...though it MIGHT come as nvidia perfectts it as i would think its just a driver but then again it could be more and may never come. as for the ship date mine the 520m with 64bit ult, 6gb ram, 500gbhdd shipped in like 2 weeks... delldoes have a 3400 on "Fast track" which shippes in 24 hours delivered in 48.

What the F, can't get fingerprint reader on highest priced configuration with core i5-520m. Dell pre-configured machines make no sense.

Dell Singapore allows config of core i5-520M with fingerprint reader.

I hate that an American company is screwing American customers.

The Sony owners have been working on retroprogramming the Z11 to enable Optimus automatic graphic switching. I would expect that a future driver will enable the Vostros as well.

    Mine just got delivered.
Have only played with it for 5 minutes or so. The time it takes from when you press the on button to when windows starts to boot surprisingly fast compared to what i am used to. In fact the entire boot up is really fast and I haven't even reformatted it to get rid of all the crapware.

Time until windows starts to boot = 5 seconds
Time until login screen is ready for input = 32 seconds
    Thats with the 500gb hdd..

The case feels solid but the top of the lid has quite a bit of flex, like when the laptop is closed and you press down on the top.. The keyboard also has a bit of flex compared to the corperate level laptops that I am used to (but probably much more solid that the crap that you find in department stores and all that).

Does anyone know if fingerprint readers are actualy secure nowadays? I remember when mythbusters used wet cardboard or something to get straight into a laptop..

    I have the geforce 310M

Mine has been going for 1 hour and 10 minutes doing things like downloading and installing firefox, chatting on facebook, changing round control panel settings and general internet browsing, and my battery icon says that there is 2 hour and 56 minutes remaining...

screen is on 60% brightness and it still seems too bright in a dark room :) was perfectly visible on the tram in daytime too.
