Win7 RC will already install some drivers built-in but these are under development, then you have via windows update for any update and teh rest, if any. And then you have Nvidia, if you have that GPU.
IIRC, Nvidia is the only hardware manufacture for the Latitude E6400 that actually publish Windows 7 drivers both in 32 and 64-bit.

Have anyone had any luck getting Displayport working in Win 7 RTM (or any of the RC's) ?
I use a displayport > hdmi cable, but get no output. If I press Fn F8 DCP just says "LCD Only".
    Any hint would be appreciated.
I don't know if it ever worked, even in Vista. Btw I've tried latest drivers from both Intel and Dell, same result.

You probably have the Intel solution, I don't have it, so I can't help you. My guess is that you will have to wait for the official drivers, when it gets release.

On the Nvidia solution, it should auto-detect. If not Just open the Nvidia Control Panel, and check under the side column for option on second displays, form where you can enable force detection.

Yeah I have Intel, forgot to mention. I've gone through the settings, but it seems it doesn't recognize the secondary monitor. If I connect a second monitor via VGA or through DVI in the dock it works fine, so..yeah. (When testing displayport the machine isn't docked).

I have been using Windows 7 since March, and now on the RTM version. No problem with connecting to an LCD HDTV via DsiplayPort. I have the Dell DisplayPort-to-HDMI adaptor.

I have Intel graphics running on the default Win7 drivers.

Thanks for the info chunglau. Couldn't get Win7 to downgrade my drivers to anything but Standard VGA. I'll take a look at some other time, but good to know it should work :)

Just install the Dell Vista drivers for the Intel graphics, then.

Still no go. Maybe the Display Port > HDMI cable is weird. Its not a major issue, it would just be nice to have working also. Well, thanks for your time, both of you.

Not really, I only see 2 Control Point download (software) and Nvidia drivers for Win7 64-bit. (skipping BIOS).
