no, it's perfectly aligned with the center of the typing keys (ie center of the keyboard not including the numerical pad).

It's huge!! I used to have an Asus A7D 17" desktop replacement and I sold it to buy something more portable, namely the vostro 1500.

Any idea if new drivers have been released for the sound card in Vostro 1500's? I hate the SQ, though it's good for integrated, my mic sounds like poop.

hi everyone. got a few questions about the 1400. sorry if these questions have been answered already. i'm not able to keep up with the newest info.

    1) do the 6-cell and 9-cell batteries still wobble, or has this been fixed now?
    2) do 1400s have better build than inspiron 1420s?
    3) are there any specific flaws related to vostros? (xps m1530 has that screen issue, um...i heard that 1330's sometimes have build defects)

There is no laptop line that does not have some defects iwish it was not so but that is the facts all laptop lines from all laptop manufactures have some defects in a few machines.

The vostro battery does wiggle but it is not even noticalbe.

I have not heard of any other issues really except some grainy screen complaints but mine is totaly fine so i think i have tio chalk it up to what i said earlier.

Only thing you can do is cross your figures and hope for the best but rest assured any issues that affect performance dell will repalce it.

    GOOD LUCK!

    Hi,

Searched for ages but can anybody tell me if they have connected the Vostro to an LCD TV with s-video or VGA? What is the quality like?

    Thanks

I haven't tried S-video, but I'm sure it will look like crap. I've done VGA, 1360x768 on a 32" Aquos and it looks decent, not as crisp as DVI, espeically when you look at it close up. It doesn't look bad though, especially if you're playing a movie.
