    svideo is as great as you would expect for a laptop with a modern gpu. good picture, great for watching films on tv...

    For movies yes, but for viewing a OS desktop and running programs, it will be awful compared to VGA.

    guys i need ur advice to choose between those 3 laptops .. Dell Inspiron 1520 or Dell Vostro 1500 or Acer 5920G ... and it's important witch one is more solid and for business use .. thanks

    What kind of business use do you have in mind? As far as "solid" goes, the Vostro 1500 uses magnesium-alloy in some portions of its casing and milar sealed keyboard. Its built like tank, looks like a tank, and weighs like a tank...well, that's an exggeration.

    IHO It only looks good through VGA but then again I also think all TVs look terrible compared to monitors. The S-Video is very good for TV-quality signals. I'm running 1080P through the component out (red+blue+green wires) and it looks great, although DVI would be better. BTW, that S-video port supports full 1080i, but you'll probably have to use a component adapter like I'm using.

    hi .. i need ur advice plz

    i'm Microsoft Instructor from Egypt and i have to buy laptop even i don't like laptops but i have to .. anyway i want give u some hints about my requirements and you advice me witch one i choose ... i will use the laptop to take it everyday from home to work on it at my office and then go back home with it and i travel to another countries so i need to travel with it and need to make it work about 8 hours at day sure with the charger connected and i need it fast and stylish and strong .... after reviews I'm confused between 2 laptops ( Acer 5920 G ) 2.0 gh core2dou with 250gb hard and u know the rest ... and Dell Vostro 1500 with the same hardware configuration ) i like the Acer more in the style and the wight is nothing to me and i don't play games .... so i just need good and strong laptop ... i like the Acer style more the Dell but people keeping tell me Acer is weak and **** and Dell is strong and solid ... but at the reviews everyone say that Acer changed and 5920G is solid ... so what u advice me ? ... Dell Vostro or Acer 5920G ... thanks and waiting ur reply .... Note : please judge if tried the both brands

    Another Note : I heard that Dell Vostro 1500 heat too much when u run hard applications .. is it true ?

    All i need a good and solid laptop from that 2 choices ... not need soo solid laptop but just need solid that feed my need witch i explained it before
