My trackpad is doing fine, but my USB ports have been giving me trouble. I have a trackball, external audio card and MIDI keyboard that have been intermittently crapping out on me when plugged into certain ports on my system. I ran the Dell BIOS-level diagnostics which came back normal, and I just flashed the BIOS to A05 and pulled down all updated drivers from the Dell site, so we shall see if this makes a difference. I have a DJ performance in a week so I'm hoping to have this resolved before then!

BTW, on a separate note, the new BIOS seems to have reduced the frequency of idle-time fan action.

Have you tried running the system in Pro Audio power mode?

No, as a matter of fact I just discovered the Dell Power Manager by reading through the last 30 pages of this thread :) So I will be trying that the next time I'm practicing, which should be later today or tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder!

Ok I have some good new to demystify things. I have a Quadro M2000 and I am running 4X, FOUR, 4 monitors at once no problem!!!! VGA, HDMI to a TV, 2X Dell 1920X1200 and the stock laptop monitor. Once I have a chance to clean the stoudio I'll take a picture.

On second look its using the Quadro to drive the 3 external displays and the Intel chip to drive the laptop screen.
