maybe try asking them for a non covet bezel?

you may have to do it via customer services after you purchase, thats what my rep always tells me and it always works

like i got a whole bunch of displayport adapters that way......

a bezel is really easy to replace anyway.

Have you tried anything to stop the off-high-off-high cycle.

For me an ongoing low fan is fine. Remember I have not yet done anything with this out the box system. Only Vista updates and connected to docking station and external 27" to the docking station.

Which means I've installed no software and the machine is connected to the docking station which is connected to an external monitor.

This is a tempermental beauty. Reminds me of 1970's Italian sports cars.

    :)

No, I've not attempted to stop it - it doesn't bother me that much. Keeps my legs warm if using it un-docked, and with the -10C temperature right now I could do with warming up!

I'm in England too - but I live in the middle of no-where near the top of a hill in Lancashire...it has been so cold I've had to throw another dog on the bed!

Is there a manual for this thing (6400)?? No paperwork with it and I could use some info about the battery charging cct.

eg There's a way of preventing the battery charging using the function keys and by experimenting I managed to get the charging light flashing orange (whatever that means?)
