Hmm...I bet I'd have issues with my VPN software too then. Yet another reason I can't go 64-bit.

Granted, 8GB would be awesome, but I don't actually NEED more than 4! :D

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'll be just fine on Vista 64.

Also thanks for the suggestions on my wife's laptop. I think tonight I'll go through each driver and make sure I've got the latest ones installed.

It REALLY needs to be said here that 64bit OS is NOT 100% compatible with the software being used out there. I have researched and found that I HAVE to get 32bit if I want to run software I want to run.

Digidesigns Pro Tools software is THE most used audio recording/editing/production software in recording studios and post production studios mixing and editing most of the television and music you people hear and watch. This software is something I will run and will NOT work on 64bit OS. Most of you may not be running this SW, but its an example of how each person needs to research the software they want to use. All the bits and ram in the world isnt going to make a heap of difference if you cant run the programs that are important to you.

    just sayin.

m6400love, Did you ever figure out why you dual SSD's in RAID 0 were only getting 90MB/s? I ordered mine with the dual 64GB SSD's in RAID 0 also and would expect around 200MB/s throughput. Are they indeed the Samsung SLC drives?

I've had to use the Cisco Anyconnect VPN client with Windows Server 2008 64 bit which is a SSL based solution. I was also able to configure my router to terminate l2tp VPN connections and use the built in VPN software to get IPSEC functionality on 64 bit.

Does the XP Downgrade option allow me to "upgrade" to Vista Ultimate (assuming that's what I ordered) in the future? I'm just not sure what to order because I'm not 100% sure all my applications will run on Vista 64-bit. Right now, my saved cart has the XP Downgrade option with Vista Ultimate.

You can also choose 64-BIT OS from the "Narrow Your Selection" options on the left side of the main laptop page. This will narrow the laptop selection list to those available with 64-BIT options and you can choose 64-BIT when you go into the system configuration pages for those models. M6400/Covet are both available there.

I'm worried about this too. I guess if it is a problem we can always get matte screen protectors.... (I actually don't think the matte sceen is available here in the UK - I tried to get a matte screen on my M6300 to no avail) Always suggest one for daytime use if I need to buy one?
