Very good point also. Never thought about dual use. I see local WalMart has one for $19.00 And I see Blacka nd Decker makes one with USB and three prong hookups.

    Thanks again!

Yes it is surprising their isn't a bios update, i think dell won't really update their business machines to compete with the new sony z, like that, i really can't find myself to buy a machine without a dvd drive you just never know when you are going to need it, and the m11x with that stupid 11.6 is also very annoying.

BIOS updates were regular with my Precison m4400. Yes, the m11x just wouldn't cut it for me.

Too bad you can't put a backlit keyboard on this machine, mod it or something DIY. Well i just an M17x and man i am impressed, i am just not that interested in portable gaming cause i this now, i just like to have something small with slightly better gaming, what i am interested in though is nvidia optimus or switchable graphics.

So nobody has noticed any sound issues with V1220? specifically, the unbalanced volume between the right channel and the left channel?

Speaker is only mono so I suppose you're using headphones. Anyway, are you running an early BIOS? There was problems with some earlier versions.

I have no problems with BIOS 1.3.0 (A03).

    You OS is Win 7?

Windows 7 seems to handle the sound balance of the V1220 better.

I have Windows XP pro, the right channel is always weaker than the left channel when using a pair of headsets. The balance of volume control is being set in the middle.

You are using Windows 7 as well? How do you like it on Votro 1220? I have the Win 7 upgrade discs from Dell. So far I haven't found enough motivation to upgrade. Maybe you can convince me? :)
