Oh could you do a test of being in class and not using the wifi while taking notes cause i plan to use this machine only once a week or so.I have three classes in one day so i am wondering, is it really true the so called 9 hours of battery life? I am crossed between this and a lattitude E6400, i just really want long battery life and that 12 cell slice is great. Too bad this machine couldn't do that. Does it have a eport on the bottom?

I am surprised to find out that Windows 7 does indeed provide longer battery life on V1220, with wifi off, I got more than 7 hours of use. Wow.

    What is that?

This laptop needs external speakers or a good pair of earbuds for good audio. So SRS is probably not necessary.

SRS is in the xps 1340, yes the 1340 does lack in bass but its loud and excellent for its size.

I don't want to admit it, but I have to say, I am NOT impressed with the build-in webcam.

The image it produced is fuzzy and washed out, even though it claims to be a 1.3M webcam, the video feels more like 0.3M.

Are you satisfied with the Vostro 1220 webcam?
